Stockbridge, Mass.—December 4, 2023—A new holiday special, Christmas in New England, features Norman Rockwell Museum and Stockbridge as part of its exploration of classic holiday traditions enjoyed by New Englanders from the coast of Maine to the hills of the Berkshires.

The program highlights Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas, the cherished holiday tradition that transforms downtown Stockbridge to reflect Rockwell’s iconic painting of that name. Rockwell’s legacy endures in Stockbridge, where the artist remains one of the community’s “most beloved residents,” notes producer and program host Lindsay Paris.

“If there’s one artist whose work represents the quintessential twentieth-century Christmas, it’s Norman Rockwell,” Paris explains.

Christmas in New England is scheduled to air on over 137 PBS stations and will reach a potential audience of 150 million viewers in 59 million households nationwide. In Massachusetts, the program will be broadcast on New England Public Media (formerly WGBY) on the following airdates and times: Thursday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 23 at 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 24 at 12:00 p.m. The program is also available to stream on-demand on the PBS Passport app beginning December 3.

Christmas in New England is produced by Lindsay Paris and Matt Belfiore of Elemental Media. The presenting station is New Hampshire PBS and the distributor is NETA. Additional information and a media kit are available at www.netaonline.org/episode/christmas-new-england.
