9:30 a.m. *SPECIAL EARLY OPENING FOR MEMBERS: Enjoy a members-only tour of the Finding Home exhibition and discussion with artist Frances Jetter and curators Stephanie Plunkett and Martin Mahoney.

10 a. m. – 12 p.m. Special tours of the Finding Home exhibition at the Museum with one of the featured artists Frances Jetter and curators Stephanie Plunkett and Martin Mahoney, with behind-the-scenes insight on the artists and the creation of the exhibition.
Included with regular Museum admission.

Explore home and sense of place in this collaborative event inspired by Norman Rockwell Museum’s new exhibition Finding Home: Four Artists’ Journeys. The afternoon includes a keynote address by Eva Millona, Executive Director of Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA); a performance by Cape Verdean singer Neuza de Pina, and a panel discussion featuring Millona, de Pina, Berkshire Immigrant Center’s Lorena Dus, and visual artist Frances Jetter.

 

Presented by Tanglewood Learning Institute in collaboration with Berkshire Immigrant Center, Mass Cultural Council’s Folk Arts & Heritage Program, MIRA, and Norman Rockwell Museum.

Despite tremendous hardship in being forced from here, today their community resides in Wisconsin and is known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community.
