Coming About: Honoring Poet Michelle Gillett
Saturday, October 28

5:30 p.m.

A gifted writer and friend to many in the Berkshires, Michelle Gillett passed away in 2016, but her memory and her books of poetry and prose continue to bring joy. This special evening of readings presents the author’s most current work, Coming About, published by Four Way Books in 2017. A regular op-ed columnist for The Berkshire Eagle and a contributing editor to the Women’s Times, Michelle also wrote several other award-winning books, including The Green Cottage, Rock & Spindle, Blinding the Goldfinches, and A Kitchen Gardener’s Cookbook, In Celebration of Motherhood. Free, all are welcome.

Land Acknowledgement

It is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are learning, speaking and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the Mohican people, who are the indigenous peoples of this land on which the Norman Rockwell Museum was built. Despite tremendous hardship in being forced from here, today their community resides in Wisconsin and is known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we commit to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all.
