MEMOIR WORKSHOP
Giving Thanks: Exploring the Art of Memoir with Jennifer Browdy, Ph.D. Sunday, November 18
2 to 4 p.m.

Through a variety of thought-provoking prompts, this pre-Thanksgiving writing workshop will invite reflection on people, places and events for which we have been grateful at different stages of our lives. Author and educator Jennifer Browdy, Ph.D. will share her insights on the importance of purposeful memoir as a tool for cultivating gratitude for our past, appreciation for our present, and a positive vision for the future we want to live in. Dr. Browdy is the author of a writer’s guide, The Elemental Journey of Purposeful Memoir, which won a 2017 Nautilus Silver Award; the memoir What I Forgot…and Why I Remembered, a 2018 International Book Awards finalist; and the editor of three anthologies of powerful women’s writing from around the world. She is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at Bard College at Simon’s Rock and for seven years served as the founding director of the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers. $25, $20 members.
