Celebrating Chinese New Year
Saturday, February 9
1 to 4 p.m.

Meet illustrator and Newbery Honoree Grace Lin, whose original artworks for Bringing in the New Year tell the tale of a Chinese American family as they prepare for the Lunar New Year. Each family member lends a hand as they sweep out the dust of the old year, hang decorations, and make dumplings. Then it’s time to celebrate, with fireworks and lion dancers, shining lanterns, and a great, long dragon parade at the end. Enjoy readings, art making, and tours of Cultural Traditions with exhibition curator Barbara Rundback. Free for Museum members, or included with Museum admission. Children free to age 18.
