Stockbridge, MA, July 10, 2012—Norman Rockwell Museum will present the lecture, “Thomas Kinkade, Norman Rockwell, and the Question of Legacy,” on Saturday, July 21, starting at 5:30 p.m. Dr. Alexis Boylan, editor of Thomas Kinkade: The Artist in the Mall, will look at the career of the late artist, whose soft-focus landscapes have permeated American visual culture for more than 20 years. Dr. Boylan will explore questions of artistic value, acclaim, and legacy as related to Kinkade and Norman Rockwell, artists whose work engaged broad popular audiences. Dr. Boylan is Assistant Professor in Residence at University of Connecticut. The evening talk is $10, free for Museum members.
