Norman Rockwell ( 1894 -1978)
Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas, 1967
Story illustration for McCall’s Magazine (December 1967: pp. 101-103)
Media Print Lithography on paper
This limited edition color offset print entitled Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas measures 13 X 44 inches and was hand signed by Norman Rockwell in permanent marker in the lower right. This print is backed on foam core paper and is a tear sheet from McCall’s Magazine. This is an unusually large and rare size print. Originally this image appeared in McCall’s Magazine in December of 1967. Norman Rockwell began this painting in 1957, but did not finish it until 1967. He had to update the painting by putting in newer car models. “I just love Stockbridge,” exclaimed Norman Rockwell of the town that was home for the last 25 years of his life. “I mean Stockbridge is the best of America, the best of New England.” “There’s almost nobody in town I haven’t painted.”
The purchase of any limited edition Norman Rockwell print is accompanied by an Authenticity Certificate signed by our Museum Director, a complimentary one-year Museum family membership, and care and handling instructions for the print. Payment plans are available. All hand signed reproduction print purchases contribute directly to the Norman Rockwell Museum to preserve and present the art and legacy of Norman Rockwell.
