Meet Dick Clemens and Eddie Locke (“The Runaway”), and other original Rockwell models who will share stories about their experience posing for America’s favorite illustrator. Special gallery tours and print signings will offered during this rare opportunity to learn first-hand about Norman Rockwell’s creative process. Free with Museum admission.

The show is sheer joy. It includes many examples of Steig’s work for ‘The New Yorker,’ cover illustrations as well as cartoons. But it also presents examples of his many illustrations for children’s books… work that took up more and more of his time as he got older, as well as a section devoted to the three-dimensional sculptures made by his fourth and final wife and creative collaborator, Jeanne Steig.

This week, we had the privilege of visiting with veteran illustrator Ed Vebell, whose extraordinary career as a combat, editorial, and historical illustrator has spanned seven decades. We are fortunate to feature one of Ed’s original illustrations in the Norman Rockwell Museum’s permanent collection, a generous gift of the artist depicting the dramatic nineteenth century meeting of the East and West Railroads at Promontory Point, Utah.
