October is shaping up to be a colorful month here at Norman Rockwell Museum–inside and out!

Inside, we have the final weeks of American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell (on view through October 13, before it makes it’s European debut at Italy’s Fondazione Museum on November 11); The Unknown Hopper: Edward Hopper as Illustrator (ends October 26); and Norman Rockwell’s Stockbridge Studio. Also on view: a collection of recent donations and loans, including the rarely-seen Glen Canyon Dam (1969), loaned from the collection of the Bureau of Reclamation.

Outside, the fall foliage is looking beautiful this year–perfect for picnics, a leisurely stroll, or one of our guided historic property walks (every Thursday at 2:30 p.m.). Our Terrace Café is also open through October 27 for your dining pleasure.

Special talks include a lecture by Ed Locke, Norman Rockwell’s original Runaway on Friday, October 3, 2:30 p.m., a look at the Harlem Renaissance (and its Berkshire connections) on Saturday, October 4, 5:30 p.m.; and a tour of the Stockbridge Cemetery (burial site for Norman Rockwell) on Thursday, October 23, 5:30 p.m.

If that wasn’t enough: we’re back on Jeopardy! TV’s favorite game show, on Thursday, October 9. Filmed on location here at Norman Rockwell Museum last December, the show’s Clue Crew will keep contestants guessing during a category about Norman Rockwell and The Saturday Evening Post (you can see all 323 of the artist’s covers on display here in Stockbridge).

Celebrate Autumn and all its splendor this month at Norman Rockwell Museum!
